Russia`s new government to continue economic policy-Kudrin
Russian Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin said on Monday his additional appointment as deputy prime minister was confirmation that the new government would continue current economic policy.
"For me, the appointment to the post of vice-premier is confirmation of the Russian president`s words about the succession of economic policy," Kudrin told reporters.
"It signifies an increase in the responsibility for the results of such policies," the 46-year-old minister said, adding that his promotion was a "strong signal of confidence from the president and the new government".
Kudrin, seen as a guarantor of economic stability and the mastermind of Russia`s return to financial health, was appointed deputy prime minister in addition to his post as finance minister in a cabinet reshuffle announced by President Vladimir Putin on Monday.
